"It's Either Boston or Cleveland but He's Going"

Lets start this off with debunking the Cleveland Cavaliers in this scenario. Even with the alleged "preference" of Butlers supposedly being Cleveland. I personally find that extremely hard to fathom, Jimmy's character is the farthest thing from a quitter. Plus Jimmy's contract does not contain any rights that allow him to decide. Where ever he is traded to has control of him for at least two years. Other than far down the road 1st round picks and over paid championship vets, Cleveland cannot afford JB's asking price without a 3rd team willing to trade a lot of picks and prospects for Kevin Love and crew. Phoenix has been rumored to be the 3rd team as they do hold the #4 pick in the draft this year. Lebron James is only posturing for Butler as he knows Butler to Boston would pose a major threat to his reign in the East next year.  My feeling is Butler would probably prefer to dethrone "the King" while wearing Celtics green as apposed to joining him.
Boston is not only the best fit for Jimmy but the only team with a package good enough to acquire his services for under 20million a year for two years at least (3rd year player option). His ties in Boston are fairly strong as well with Mark Walhberg being a Boston homer and advocate for Butler to Boston. Many of you already know Jimmy and Marky Mark are BFF's who pal around together whenever possible. The fit in Boston with Jimmy's grit and heart could not be a better pair. This pairing would be sure to send a chill down Lebrons spine. As mentioned in my last blog Boston holds 7 first round picks through the 2019 draft.
Boston has long been after Jimmy's talents as their front office knows the player he is and the fit he would have in their gritty group. To get anything less than Jaylen Brown the 20 year old SF (#3pick in the 2016 draft) the #3 pick this year and Lakers protected pick acquired from trading the #1 overall to Philly. Would be ORGANIZATIONAL SUICIDE. Even with a super max contract looming down the road in a year or two (with Jimmy a shoe in to make his 2nd All-NBA team), that the Bulls would be reluctant to dish out. Trading this perennial All-Star just to trade him would be foolish. What he becomes in two years may make it impossible not to pay him.
Any trade the Bulls make should be in writing going into draft night, only going through if the player they are going after is still available at said pick. Their target should be De'Aaron Fox and no one else but reading this front offices intentions is something even a person with supernatural abilities couldn't  manage. KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune has reported the Bulls taking interest in Fox. The only question left is, will Boston play the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes with the Bulls and go after a championship next year. I feel its likely for as little as they tried to get from Philly for the #1 overall. You don't pass on Fultz if your not trying to win NOW. Stay tuned...
